The Colombo National Museum Library was founded on January 1st, 1877, and has been the base of the library collection for the past 129 years by gathering local publications, becoming the first Legal Deposit library on the Island. Over 12 million titles, including rare books, journals, and manuscripts on palm leaves, are currently housed at the library.
